Zhiwei Cao, co-founder and chairman of NewCity Investment Holding Group. He is the vice president of Guangdong New Social Stratum Association, and the president of The Internet & New Media, which is the sub-association of Guangdong New Social Stratum Association. He is also member of the Standing Committee of the Guangzhou Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
Michael is the Managing Director at NewCity Developments Group Australia. With over 25 years’ experience, Michael majored in International Finance, later studying a Master in Business Management (Entrepreneurship) at Oxford Brookes University. In 1994 Michael was engaged in the establishment of NewCity Guangzhou and was responsible for a number of urban renewal projects and residential projects for the Guangzhou Government. These include Liwan District Neighbourhood, Kengkou Neighbourhood, a new Teacher’s Village in Baiyun District, and Haicheng Garden in Haizhou District. In total, Michael was involved in delivering 20 high-rise and mid-rise projects comprising over 2,000 dwellings.
Shelly is the Assistant to the Chairman and the Chief Financial Officer at NewCity Developments Group Australia.
Shelly has over 10 years of experience in increasingly responsible roles within finance at several companies. She spent three years working as tax consultant at KPMG, during which she focuses on corporate tax advisory for large state-own companies, listed companies and multinational corporations, acquisition due diligence, IPO review and advisory. In her last position, Shelly managed investment for a state-owned construction company in China. Her experience is enhanced by her Bachelor’s degree (Hons) in Accounting and Finance and Master’s degree in Marketing. Shelly is responsible for the overall leadership of NewCity’s investment management and financial management.
Sam Failla has worked in the building and development industry in Melbourne for over 30 years. Sam worked on numerous projects, mostly residential, either as an Architect, Builder, Project Manager, Construction Manager, Development Manager, Project Director, Senior Development Manager and Director of Developments and has been personally responsible for delivering circa 10,000 new homes to the Melbourne property market over his career.
Julia has diverse property experience including trust account management, corporate finance management, financial accounting and financial reporting. She also worked as tax consultants at KPMG for more than 3 years specialising in corporate tax advisory for large state-own companies, listed companies and multinational corporations, restructuring advisory, IPO review and advisory.Julia is responsible for overseeing and managing the efficient operation of the accounting, finance and tax functions. She is the key liaison with representatives from the financial institutions. Julia holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) and a Master of Business (Banking and Finance). She is also a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA).
